Growing up my Grandparents always had a huge beautiful garden. Seriously, I cannot think of a single thing they did not grow. When I was little I never understood the hard work that went into gardening, but I never understood what satisfaction you get from gardening. That was what I was most excited about with our house. Starting our own little garden!
It started out rough, (remember this post where I killed like all my plants?) but I did not give up. We are reaping a few results from our plants and it makes it so worth it. It's so fun to go out and check how the plants are doing.
Here is our little garden (in the boxes and to the right of the boxes)
In the first box we have bell peppers and strawberries. Second box zucchini, lettuce and onions. Third box is all tomatoes, with chives in the little planter. Then next to all the boxes are squash and pumpkins.
Some of the tomatoes.
Our pumpkin is a little smaller then a basketball right now.
Zucchini and squash after being picked.
These next few pictures are mainly for family, but here is what the curbing looks like with our flowers. You can kind of tell the hydro-seed has grown in, Brett mowed it last week. I don't know if there was more weeds than grass, but whatever, green is green right? ha
This fall we are planning on putting in trees and more shrubs (then the six tiny bushes we have currently) What tree's do people like planting? I want a few fruit trees and then I am thinking a few flowering trees in the front that do not produce fruit. I think trees in bloom in the spring are beautiful.
We have a bunch of projects lined up for fall, lets see if we will accomplish them.
