Almost 3 weeks ago we got our curbing and hydroseed done. We should have sprayed for weeds because unfortunately there are a lot amongst the little sprouts of grass we have. However, it is still kind of exciting to see the few blades that are starting to come up!
This weekend we attempted to do some yard work. Brett went to the garden shop and filled the truck bed with soil . We weeded, spread out the new soil and I planted my little plants. I had been watering/watching these plants for the last month. Here were a few of my plants before I planted them this last weekend. (I bought 2 more flats after I took this picture) Brett was nice enough to humor me and my garden ambitions by letting me keep them by the window...
I do not want to post the after picture, because now they look so awful. I called the garden center and they assured me it takes awhile for plants to come out of their "shock"phase after you plant them. I am afraid however that I fertilized the crap out of them and that they are goners. It makes me so sad!
Brett also built a little garden box for me, and we are hoping to add a few more as time goes on. That is if I get better at gardening. Right now I am feeling pretty discouraged about the whole thing! At least we still have tulip bulbs left to plant. I can't mess that up, right??
