Brett had his Birthday last week! It doesn't feel like he did because he was in Las Vegas for the WCC basketball tournament to celebrate. He went with his dad, Chad, his uncles and all his cousins. They never slept and enjoyed doing man things. They played in St. George on the four wheelers, swam and ate lots. They then went to the basketball games to root for BYU and they watched some great games. The Gonzaga vs St Marys game was really exciting and went into overtime and they didn't drive home until late. I wished we could have celebrated Brett's birthday together, but I think he had a lot of fun hanging out with his brother and dad for the week. Here are a few pictures from the trip.
They went to the Hoover Dam.
Their seats during the tournament. I don't know which teams these are...
They rode the New York New York roller coaster.
They went and visited the pawn shop from the show Pawn Stars.
For Brett's birthday he is getting a pretty big gift- Braces. He is not really thrilled about it, but I think he will like the end result when all is said and done. He already had braces when he was in high school but his old orthodontist didn't fix his occlusion so we will be fixing that/helping his jaw and then we will most likely do veneers after he is done with ortho (18 months to go!). The veneers will lengthen his anteriors and help make his smile more symmetrical because right now he has a few places that really bother him. All very exciting news- getting new teeth and all, I know, but seriously he will love it when it is done. It's just right now he is dragging his feet and it sucks that it will take 18 months to get to that point. Happy Birthday Brett! You are a great husband!

Happy belated B-day Brett! Basketball-- sounds like the perfect Burton party!
Braces! Got to love that. My husband has considered them as well (but that's post grad. school... maybe). It's fun to read your blog! I love it! Afton, you sound SO ADORABLE and FUN! I hope someday we'll meet! ;)
I will tell Brett that your husband is considering it too. He isn't very excited about the whole thing. We really have to, otherwise it would be bad for this teeth in the long run! Basketball is definitely a Burton tradition. We can't get enough of it over here. Thanks for your kind comments Heidi!
