First I wanted to thank everyone who voted for my mom for the Pillsbury Bake-Off. We were happy to find out that she won the vote off and that she will be competing this March in Orlando for the Grand Prize of $1 million dollars! My mom was definitely overwhelmed with gratitude because so many people voted and told friends and family to vote for her. I know it really meant a lot to her, so thank you everyone! I will let you know how it goes.
Also big news in our little family... we got a pug!
Meet Ms. Lucy Burton
We had been looking to adopt an older dog at the shelters, rescues etc and were having a hard time finding something that fit our little family. We wanted a dog that was laid back (ie not very active) super good with kids, would not dig in our yard, was not big, but not tiny either. We did not want a yappy dog, in fact we did not want a dog that barks much at all for that matter, and of course they needed to be housebroken. Yeah quite a list huh? Add that to trying to find a dog like this at a shelter, it was quite a difficult task since they are usually bigger dogs.
Well Lucy's old owner was an elderly woman who got so sick she was put in a retirement home and could no longer take care of her. She was put in a shelter and a rescue picked her up and took her to the Petsmart adoption where we found her. She is quite a bit overweight so we are going to work on shedding some pounds but she is such a happy little dog. She just likes to hang out and lick everyone. So welcome to the family Lucy!
