December/January Happenings

Christmas was a nice break and it was good to see my family. Sadly however we do not have one picture from our break..... We enjoyed cupcakes from the Sweet Tooth Fairy, played games, we went with my family to the Carl Bloch exhibit and we got to go to my brother-in-law's younger brother's mission homecoming. (That's not confusing or anything)

January has been pretty great too. I celebrated my Birthday working but my office gave me some really nice presents and goodies which was awesome. Brett and I went out for dinner on my birthday and Brett's parents made us burgers and dessert on Monday to celebrate with us later. Brett gave me my long awaited sewing machine:

So now I can start sewing pillows and curtains for our new house! That is right, we bought a new home the end of December and we are moving in less than 2 weeks. It feels like we had been looking at houses for forever because Brett always sees the new listings and changes on the market, and it feels good to finally have found one we could agree on. I must say our place right now is VERY messy with boxes and trying to get everything ready to move but this will be the last time we move for a very long time.

It's been a lot of fun buying appliances and new furniture for our home. We just ordered our living room set and I cannot wait until it is all delivered and it completes our new place.

Now when I shop I always want to look for things for the house to decorate with or furniture instead of looking for clothes or anything else. I definitely need decorating ideas so if anyone has any, please do share. I guess what I am most excited about is that now we can have visitors!
