Family Fun

Thanksgiving was a much needed long weekend with family. We watched Harry Potter (which was awesome), ate tons of food, Brett played as much basketball as he could, and I spent a lot of time shopping. (Only one more Christmas gift to go!)

We went to the Carl Bloch exhibit Friday and it was very interesting and such a great experience. If you live close to this exhibit you really should go! Tickets are free, you just need to reserve them to attend. My favorite paintings of his include:

The Healing at the Pool of Bethesda

I could not believe the detail there is in this painting and to think it is life size!

Manger Scene

Which of course goes right along with the Christmas season.

We also went to see the Christmas lights in Salt Lake which was very entertaining, especially because this is Chad's first Christmas back from Madagascar and he was super excited. We enjoyed ourselves right up until the Jazz vs. the Lakers game got out. Then traffic was so bad, we had to get out of there quick.
I know our hats are awesome. We found them in the Burton's car and they are Jason's. Don't tell him we wore them or he will get mad. Oh well, that's what happens when you are on a mission... We were so dang cold, we were willing to wear anything at that point.

Saturday Brett and his family went to the BYU vs Utah game. It was at Utah this year, and it is a good thing Brett has a red North Face. Given that I did not want to be standing in the freezing cold for 6 hours, I chose to hang out with my family instead (Must say it was way more fun hanging out with the nephews and niece). I sent Brett with a camera to take pictures with at the game, but alas the poor lady who "took" the so called pictures did not know how to operate the camera. She did in fact DELETE pictures, but no she did not take any. Oh well no one wants to remember that game anyways right?
So there above is our ONE picture from Thanksgiving.

Thank you Thanksgiving, it was real and we always enjoy the time off. Now on to Christmas!!
