Thanksgiving Break

We spent Thanksgiving with the Burton side for our very first Thanksgiving together. Brett was able to get work off Tuesday so we were able to leave after my classes that Tuesday morning. It was a busy but fun break!

Wednesday Brett got a root canal done and I took the drivers license test for Idaho to switch my residency. I was so sad when I had to give up my Oregon license. They won't let you keep it for security reasons and I had a hard time handing it over. As for the dental office, they were excited to hear I am in dental hygiene school. Brett said that was all they talked to him about. What can I say, not very many people are interested in cleaning other peoples teeth so it is exciting when you find someone going into that field.

Thursday we ate tons, played games, watched movies and relaxed. Friday I awoke to my sister and mother calling/texting as they were shopping on Black Friday. Even though we were in seperate states for the holidays, we all had the same thing on our minds for our Friday morning. My mom also went to our neighbor's wedding and updated me on the wedding as well. It's weird how everyone's getting married...including ourselves in that statement. But it is a lot of fun!

Saturday I went with Brett's mom and grandma to a craft show so Brett's mom could get decorations for the holidays. Their house is on display for Christmas for a fundraiser. While at the craft show we got some cute decorations to make our little apartment more appropriate for the Christmas Season. Note that when I say we, I mean me, Jill and Grandma. Brett stayed home and watched Happy Gilmore with all the boys. He turned down my offer to go :(
That afternoon we also made a very important trip to Costco where Brett ate his little heart out on samples. That night as a family we went to a BYU Alumni dinner where they had a dutch oven caterer cook ribs, potatoes, baked beans and cobbler. It was to get ready for the BYU vs. ISU game which BYU won soundly (by 20 points). Brett's good friend Landon was able to come and they caught up the whole time. It was fun to see Landon and Brett talk and see what each other was up to. Too bad him and his wife live so far from us.

Sunday we left for Provo later then planned (this always happens....) and put up our new decorations. Now it is starting to look a little more like Christmas here! We listened to Christmas music and it makes me want finals to be over with! (They don't start until another few weeks) After decorating we had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner with Chelsea and Doyle because they weren't able to have Thanksgiving dinner Thursday. They flew back from Doyle's sister's wedding all day Thursday missing out on their turkey dinner. We celebrated Chelsea's 21st Birthday with food, friends, games and not to leave out watching 3o Rock. It was so much fun! Anyways here are two pictures from the BYU dinner and once I get pictures of our decorated apartment I will post them.
Waiting for our food at the BYU Alumni Dinner. We felt so out of place. Everyone had BYU clothes on and some even had their faces painted. As you can see, we are wearing grey/black. Not very spirited at all... Also please notice Brett's little mustache. He tried growing a little one for the break and plans on growing a bigger one for Christmas Break. Something to look forward too!
Yes this is really how much my husband eats and no I don't know where it all goes!
This isn't from Thanksgiving, but instead when we took Christmas pictures. It's funny to see Brett and Doyle contemplate if Doyle can make it across the river with his stick. He thought he could pole vault across the river which us girls strongly discouraged.
