I officially feel old. I am in my mid twenties and it is only up from here....
At work, my dentist's wife buys or makes whatever treat you want for your Birthday. Everyone always chooses healthy things like chips and salsa, strawberries and dip etc. So I totally followed suit and requested these amazing almond sticky buns.... yeah healthy!
Candice bought us a dozen to share at the office. By the end of the day there were still ten left for me to take home so I gave some away because eating ten cinnamon rolls by yourself can't be good...
So instead I only ate three, see how good I am?!
For my birthday I got lots of good stuff from family and friends. I got lots of clothes, (I was most excited about getting two pairs of these jeans at Downeast for only $9 a piece...and there is nothing wrong with them, score!), a kitchen torch (I hope I don't burn my eyebrows off), new slippers, BYU and U of O t-shirts, a new dress from Banana Republic and a bunch of tablecloths.
I know what you are thinking...tablecloths? Why on earth would anyone want that? Well my biggest birthday gift was finally upgrading our rinky dink dining room table. I am so glad we bought a new one and how much nicer it is.
The bad news is it is not from Costco. I know you are all shocked, and it was a tough decision to not go with them... but they only had counter height tables and we worry about having that with little kiddos (You know since we have so many?? ha) . So no this is not from Costco...even though everyone who has heard about it/seen it has asked.
We went out to dinner for my birthday this weekend and we both ordered sirloins. Brett was in heaven!
When we got home late (seriously it was like 10:00 when we got home from dinner...that is VERY unusual for me to eat that late) and instead of cake, Brett got me a fruit tart from Fred Meyer. I have had my eye on those tarts for quite some time. It was okay, not great but I think I had too high of expectations...I wanted a tart with curd and it was only whipped cream. I know I am picky... what can I say, I am a foodie.
The rest of this week we have been hitting up restaurants in town that do birthday promotions. Of course we got our free burger at Red Robin, and we hit up Kiwi Loco for a free birthday ice cream.
Yeah for getting old and wanting old people things like tables/furniture. Thank you everyone for the Birthday Wishes!
