The above picture unfortunately was not my boards patient, because I forgot to take my camera to my test. This is a picture of one of my patients though after I cleaned him, so it will have to do.
After I had my results from my written board, I still had three more monster tests to take. The first test I took was a written anesthesia exam. I walked out of it with a pit in my stomach and sat with the rest of the hygiene candidates in the waiting room as they graded our tests. When the Wreb Staff told us our results were ready, we all filed into a line. An envelope with our candidate number sat there and I grabbed mine and headed to my car. I figured if I did not pass then I could go home and no one would notice. But I passed!! It was the best feeling ever.
Brett came and was my patient for injections. I hit bone for the first time ever on my IA nerve block and just about had a heart attack! I prayed in my head I would just pass and I then I turned to Brett and whispered, "Open Wider!" My needle slipped in perfectly and then for my PSA injection, it was perfect. I passed anesthesia and was soooo relieved.
Friday was my last and most stressful board. We called my patient several times to make sure he was coming. My cousin who is a hygienist had her patient no show for her board, so I was very nervous and stressed out that it would happen to me to. Luckily I had an amazing patient who showed up to the test site before I did! He was so happy and compliant the whole time. I brought him books in Spanish and he read and hung out and thought it was awesome he was getting paid. I submitted as much as I could and he qualified first time. It was stressful trying to get all the paper work done and clean, but it all worked out.
We moved Saturday and the U-Haul was smaller then we were told. We had to make due with the small trailer and pack half of our belongings and leave the rest in Utah. We eventually retrieved everything (at least I think...) and house sat for the Burton's while they were in Madagascar! It has been quite a busy summer for the Burton's....
