Thunderbird Barbeque

The airport my dad flies out of does an airshow every year. Every other year they will feature different jet planes. The Blue Angels have come before, but this year for the show the Thunderbirds came! Brett had to go back home to work so he unfortunately missed the airports annual barbeque while watching the practice for the air show. So we took a special trip to the airport for Brett and my dad showed everyone the planes and helicopters he uses.

Here is the little two seater

The barbeque they hold is for pilots and customers along with their family. They hold it during the practice of the jets and it is so fun to be so close but it can really hurt your ears!

Here is the family waiting in line for food while watching the jets. We had to cover little E's ears since it was so loud and he would not let us put ear plugs in.

There they go!

My dad said this was a robot they feature in the show named Robosaurus. Supposedly it spits out fire and crushes cars but we did not get to see it do that.

It was pouring rain by the end so we moved our barbeque into one of the hangars. Only in Oregon would it rain in August, but we toughed out the rain to get a few pictures by the planes.

I really hope that the next time a fun group comes like the Thunderbirds, that Brett can come too!
